Harvest of Joy: Pongal Celebrations at SSVM Mettupalayam

SSVM Mettupalayam was a kaleidoscope of colors, joy, and festive spirit as the school celebrated the grand occasion of Pongal! The campus was abuzz with the vibrancy of the harvest festival, creating a lively and culturally rich ambiance.

Students dressed in elegant traditional attire added charm and authenticity to the occasion. The programme featured captivating traditional performances, including energetic Kummi and other folk dances, which were enjoyed by all.

The traditional preparation of Pongal on the school campus was a highlight of the celebration. The freshly cooked Pongal was offered to the Sun God, symbolizing gratitude, prosperity, and reverence for nature.

Students actively participated in traditional games and activities, such as Uriyadi, tyre race, and an exciting bullock cart ride, filling the day with enthusiasm and cheer. The festivities were complemented by the serving of traditional food, candies, and festive sweets.
