The Regional CBSE Science Exhibition for the academic session 2024-25 was successfully held at the Mosrimaa Convention Centre, SSVM™ World School, Coimbatore, on November 6th and 7th, 2024. This two-day event brought together young minds to showcase their creativity, innovation, and scientific acumen under the theme “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future.” The exhibition was organized around seven key sub-themes Food, Health & Hygiene, Transport and Communication, Natural Farming, Disaster Management, Mathematical Modelling and Computational Thinking, Waste Management, and Resource Management
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, Founder of SSVM Institutions™, who expressed her appreciation for the students’ dedication and innovative spirit in addressing real-world challenges through science and technology.
A total of 72 schools from Coimbatore and surrounding regions participated in the event, presenting 94 exhibits across two categories:
• Category 1: Classes 6, 7, 8
• Category 2: Classes 9, 10, 11
Six esteemed judges from prominent colleges evaluated the exhibits over two days. On Day 1, 26 exhibits were shortlisted based on their creativity, scientific accuracy, and potential impact. The final scrutiny on Day 2 resulted in 14 outstanding exhibits being selected for qualification to the National Level Exhibition.
The event was a vibrant showcase of ingenuity and scientific curiosity. The exhibits displayed a remarkable range of innovative ideas, from practical solutions to pressing environmental issues to advanced technological models aimed at sustainable development. The participants’ ability to present complex concepts with clarity and enthusiasm was commendable. It was evident that the students not only understood the scientific principles behind their projects but also demonstrated a deep commitment to using science for societal benefit.
