SSVM Institutions, in partnership with Access USA and Alma College’s International Championship MUN Team, successfully hosted the 2nd Annual ASLMUN Regional Conference from December 5–7 at SSVM World School. Students from Grades 8–12 participated as United Nations delegates, engaging in thoughtful dialogue and collaborative decision-making.
This year, delegates represented the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), deliberating on the theme “Mitigating the Effects of Extreme Weather Events on Vulnerable Communities and Biodiversity”—a topic of significant global importance. All committee discussions were conducted with respect, accuracy, and adherence to international MUN guidelines.
Over the three-day conference, students engaged in debates, drafted resolutions, participated in moderated caucuses and crisis simulations, and collaborated within drafting blocs. Delegates received Certificates of Participation, with several being recognized for exceptional performance and written submissions.
The ASLMUN Regional Conference provided an enriching and transformative platform for young minds to deepen their understanding of global challenges, embrace diverse perspectives, and strengthen essential skills in diplomacy, negotiation, leadership, research, and global citizenship.
