We feel proud to record that, for the eighth consecutive year, our students secured 100% results in CBSE and State Board exams held in March, 2013.

Twenty one students of grade X secured A1 grade in all subjects. In +2 State Board Exams, Venkata Giri Raj was the school topper scoring 1180/1200 with centum in computer science. Pavithran T was the school second scoring 1164/1200 with centum in Accountancy. Sowmithran S was the school third scoring 1149/1200.

In +2 CBSE Board Exams, Mathanghi Devi R S was the school first scoring477/500. Saravana Gowtham B was the school second scoring 469/500 and Mahesh Kanna M was the school third scoring 463/500.

Education is the most powerful weapon which one can use to bring the smile of joy to the face of another. Here we have a precious unit called “AATHMA SEVA”, extending free service to the tune of fifty differently abled children. The tiny tots of KG sections contributed their excellent performance in the “Rhyme and Rhythm” competitions, held at RS Puram Kalaiarangam, Mr.K.V.Siddhartha, CEO, Coimbatore Art & Theatrical Society was the Chief Guest. The LKG Children were dressed as various characters portraying the need of Fruits and Vegetables which would lead to a life of quality. The theme given for UKG children was “Good habits”. They appeared on the stage with their graceful movements which created keen interest and curiosity among the audience.

To pave the way for the new boarders to feel at home, “FRESHER’S DAY”, was celebrated with homely atmosphere.

In order to uphold the right spirit of leadership and improve the team spirit among the students the “INVESTITURE CEREMONY” was held. SPL, ASPL, House Captains and Vice Captains were elected by an Electro-Voting System.

“The world we have created is a product of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking”.

The indomitable performance of the children taking up extraordinary measures to come forward with creative thinking revealed their talents from time to time, which transfixed everything. The blooming buds sizzled through a variety of innate talents displaying the richness towards the language through various aspects like poster making, debate, speech, poem writing, essay writing, just a minute drama etc.,

Junior Category: M.Swetha of std VIII was placed first in the English story writing competition. The Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE), conducted by Trinity College, London in a race towards excellence many students appeared for the examination, in which many of them secured distinction and others were awarded merits, which marked a huge take off.

On this day we remember our great literates who have contributed in the field of languages apart from English.

The department of language has made its own mark too. Competitions in Tamil, Hindi and French were conducted. Essay writing, poem writing, Pattimandram, recitals of Thirukural, Kural Oviyum were the important events. The “Tamil Illakiya Mandra Vizha”, was held on 3rd December, 2013. Thiru Nellai Kannan, orator and writer was the Chief Guest. He distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions.

In paying tribute to mathematician “Aryabhata” the department of mathematics conducted various activities and competitions like puzzles, rapid problem solving, sodoku etc.

S.Pavishnu of std IX bagged the 1st position in Mathematics quiz contest conducted by “Pentasoft”.

It aims at developing citizens with knowledge skill and character which in turn contribute to social transformation and National development in consonance with their motto, “Educate to Elevate”.

Activities like quiz programme on fun with science, word games etc had been conducted. In National Level Science Talent Research Examinations Rithika K.V. std III, Snehan.R of std IV, Subadarshini K.N of std VI, Vasantha Kumar D of std VII, Kailash Krishna S of std VIII and Lokesh Krishna N of std X bagged first place. In Inter School Quize contest Sowmiya Srinivasan of std III bagged the 5th position in All India Level. S.M.K. Ragul of std III was the winner. A part from imparting value based education we have also created awareness among our students on ‘Health Care’. Eye camp was conducted in our school campus by a team of optometrists, under the able guidance of Dr.Ramamoorthy, Chairman, ‘The Eye Foundation’, Coimbatore.

‘It is not the honour that you take with you, but the heritage that you leave behind’.

With a view to creating patriotism, various activities like role play, debate, skit, artwork, discussions, slogan writing, poster making etc., were conducted. Our students had an extraordinary experience of ‘Trekking’ on the hills of Kodaikanal. They learnt much about flora and fauna. They had their camp at the bank of BERIJAM LAKE. We also organized ‘rallies’, to create awareness among the public on AIDS, Rainwater harvesting, Anti-plastic. Road Safety Patrol has been instituted to implant the knowledge on traffic rules and regulations. The entire events of National Celebrations and Religious Festivals were celebrated in a spectacular way by our students.

“Arts education aids students in skills needed in the work place, flexibility, the ability to solve problems and communicate, the ability to learn new skills, to be creative and innovative and to strive for excellence”.

S.M.K. Ragul of First standard bagged 1st position in colouring conducted by Pentasoft Quiz contest – 2013. Our grade VI & VIII students participated in the Art competition held in Chennai. Students Development Society, Pune conducted National Handwriting & colouring Contest-2013. Fourteen of our children secured Kala Gaurav Award for their excellent colouring. Our school got 2nd cash prize of Rs.5000/- as winner school in National Level and Kharisri of std X bagged cash prize of Rs.1000/- as winner student National Level, in Handwriting contest.

The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi conducted ‘Green Olympiad 2013’ examination and 267 students of classes VIII to X participated.

All got appreciation and certificate of participation. Gandhi Peace Foundation, Madras conducted open-book exam competition on Gandhiji’s Autobiography “My Experiment with Truth”. 10 students got 1st Prize with cash award of Rs.500/- each. Another 10 students got 2nd place with cash prize of Rs.300/- each and yet another 10 students secured 3rd place with cash award of Rs.200/- each.

Our students extraordinarily proved their talents not only in academics but also in sports.
  • To make it enthusiastic and energetic we invited Ms.Arunima Sinha, National Football and Volley ball player as Chief Guest.
  • In the Coimbatore region CBSE Schools Sahodaya Sports and Games meet, our students clinched overall championship trophies in Hand Ball, Swimming, Kabaddi, Roller Skating, Shuttle and Badminton.
  • Our children have won the District and State Level overall championship in Swimming Competitions, conducted by Aquatic Association at Jenny’s club, Coimbatore.
  • In Roller Skating our children clinched the overall Championship trophy in District Level. In Tennis our boys under – 12 Doubles were the winners and in all other categories they were the runners-up.
  • In State Level Soft Tennis tournament held at Erode our boys bagged 1st 2nd and 3rd places in all categories.
  • In Volley ball tournament organized by Little Kingdom School, Tirupur, our boys under-16 got the 1st place and under 14 and 19 they were the runners-up.
  • In Basket Ball Sahodaya, our boys were declared as Runners-up. Our school team also participated in State Level Basket ball tournament.
  • In Shuttle Badminton our children bagged 2nd and 3rd places in Coimbatore District Level. In Tirupur District Level, K.S.Nithish bagged the 1st place.
  • In Kho-Kho our Girls under 19 were the Winners and Under 14 & 12, they were the Runners up.

ATHLETICS: In athletic Meet our children bagged the overall championship trophy and in March Past our students were given 1st place.

YOGA : In State Level yoga competition conducted by the Yoga Association at Rotary Club Tirupur, S.P.Harish std XI got the 1st prize Murali Prashath and Sushanth Ram of std VI bagged 2nd prize.

TAEKWONDO: In District Level Taekwondo championship competitions conducted at Coimbatore our students bagged the 2nd place.

CHESS: “Kovai Chess Mates” International Fide Rated chess tournament was held in Coimbatore in which our student R.Nandhini of std VIII bagged 3rd place under 16 category. In Chief Minister’s trophy chess tournament held at Chennai, she got 1st place in Girls’ category and got Rs.1200/- as cash award.


NCC: Unity and discipline is the motto of every cadet. There are two wings namely, AIR WING and ARMY WING controlled by 2(TN) Air SQN NCC, Coimbatore, and 2(T) Battery NCC, Coimbatore respectively.

AIR WING: Our cadets attended the ‘NCC AIR WING CAMP – 2014 at Coimbatore 700 cadets from 18 schools and different colleges participated in various competitions conducted in the camp. Our boys & Girls bagged the first place in cross country competition. In Firing our boys and girls secured silver medals. In volley ball and Kho-Kho our cadets secured first place. In drill both the boys and girls got Gold medal for their excellent performance for five consecutive years. Our cadets also bagged the overall championship trophy under Junior Division (Boys) and Junior Wing (Girls).

ARMY WING: In various competitions held at Chickana Govt. Arts College, Tirupur our cadets bagged the overall championship trophy.

SCOUTS & GUIDES: Lower wing of bunnies, cubs & bulbuls District level Olympic sports competitions for Bunnys, cubs and bulbuls – 2013 were conducted at Mani Hr. Sec. School, Coimbatore. 48 Bunnies, 24 cubs and 24 bulbuls of our school participated in all the sports events like Art colouring & Craft, Running race, skipping race, drat and throwing the ball. In that our school buds bloomed with 20 gold medals and 10 silver medals. Our school won the overall championship. And added to it the best school of north zone has been awarded to our school.

Apart from studies, the students are to be skilled in many areas to face the challenges that modern life demands.

While scholastic activities refer to the brain, co-scholastic activities are connected with heart and hands.

Striving to enhance happiness, beauty and quality of life, to bring out a balanced personality of the child, make him compete with the current arenas of life, life skills are imparted. The students are exposed to interactive sessions and activities, encouraging them to focus, listen and respond to the various aspects of learning skills. Our students participated in the International Life Skills summit held in Chennai and Delhi and bagged many prizes.

Incorporating all the principles of complete living, the children are given cookery classes opening access towards self-reliance. Nutrifest – 2013 was conducted in the cookery lab where grade X students participated in salad competition. Mr.Lawrance Thampi, Secretary Coimbatore district Aquatic Association was the Chief Guest. With delicious and nutritious fruit and vegetable salads, and savouries with impressive presentation they won the hearts of visitors and bagged many prizes.

  • In Bio-festa competition our children got overall winners with many prizes.
  • Sahodaya complex dance competition – 1st in classical group, Western group and folk group.
  • In Theatre fest – They bagged Jury’s special award for their remarkable performance in mime.
  • Our students participated in the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition 2013 held at Chennai .
  • Star wars – 2013 – Vidhyans bagged several prizes in many competitions like Essay, Quiz, Soap Carving, Painting etc and became overall champions.
  • In II International Life Skills summit, our students of grade X & XI participated and won 1st prize in Thematic Jungle and consolation prize in World Health Exhibition.
  • In the Sahodaya Interschool complex Life Skills summit, 2013, SSVM came out as overall champions.
  • In District Level Olympic sports competition conducted by the Bharat scouts & Guides our cubs and bulbuls bagged I, II and III prizes in Art & Craft, Sports etc.
  • In the National Level yoga tournament held in Bangalore, Murali Prashanth of grade VI, M.P.Akul of grade VII got 1st prize in own choice Asana, S.P.Harish of Grade XI got 1st prize in common syllabus.
  • In the 37th Tamil Nadu State Level Shooting Championship held in Coimbatore Srisha bagged 3 gold in the Sub Junior, Junior and Women’s T - category , 1 gold in the Sub-Junior, 2 silver in the Junior and Women’s IST category, 2 gold in Sub Junior, Junior and 1 silver in Women’s category in team respectively by breaking the existing records.
  • The 3rd gun for glory, in the National Level held in Pune, she bagged 3 silver in Sub-Junior, Junior and Women’s Category and in the All India Interschool Shooting championship held in Pune, she got 1 silver in the Junior Category.
  • In the 23rd All India Maulankar shooting Championship conducted in Kolkatta, she shot her target by winning one gold in the Sub Junior category in the youth championship and 2 bronze in the Junior and Women’s category.
  • In 56th National Shooting Championship held at Delhi, she came out victoriously with silver in the team and was selected for the Internationals.
  • Finally we express our heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty for his presence and perpetual guidance in all our endeavours. We also thank our Management, Parents, Teachers and Students for their excellent co-operation and support extended throughout the year.
